Ben’s First Tooth

Friday, October 16th, 2009

At last, at 12 months, 2 weeks and 1 day old, Ben cut his first tooth.  Thursday 15th October, 2009,  Auntie Alex’s 15th Birthday.  Hoorah!!!  We have been  waiting for so long, especially as we were told Ben was teething at just under 6 weeks old!  We are so relieved and hoping that the rest come through quickly and with relative ease, then maybe he will be more settled at night time.  How exciting!  Looking forward to seeing him with a toothy smile :-)

One Year Jabs

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

The end of last week Ben had his one year jabs.  It was a bit touch and go whether he was going to have them or not as he had had his very first cold at the beginning of the week (there was snot everywhere!!! ;-) ).  But he recovered enough to have them and ended up with three jabs, two in one leg and one in the other.  He was apparently ok with the first jab but then obviously knew what was coming so cried for the next two, but it was over and done with quickly and he doesn’t have to have any more until he starts school in a few years.

Ben’s 1st Birthday Party

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

On the Saturday following his birthday, we held a bit of a party at our house with lots of relatives over for the afternoon.  They all brought cards and presents for Ben, which he enjoyed opening and playing with!

THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT CAME AND GAVE BEN A CARD AND/OR PRESENT, IT IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

Here are a few pics from the day……

Ben’s 1st Birthday

Monday, October 12th, 2009

It was Ben’s 1st birthday on 1st October 2009.  Neither myself or Kelly can believe it has been a whole year since he was born!  The time has flown by and the difference in Ben from when he was born up to now is crazy.  He has grown so much and is very clever.

We took him to JUMP! during the morning (I had the day off work) after he had opened his presents and cards, which he enjoyed.  The rest of the day he played with his new toys and was so excited by it all he wouldn’t go to sleep properly in the afternoon.  Luckily, he was so tired in the evening that he went to bed with no problems (for a change!) and slept quite well during the night.  All in all, we think Ben had a very good and happy 1st birthday, and so did we!

Ben’s 1st Birthday BBQ

Friday, October 9th, 2009

The Saturday before Ben’s 1st birthday, we had a bit of a BBQ party at Ben’s Grandpa’s house as it was lovely weather.  In fact, it was the first BBQ we had had there all year, which is terrible!  We had the usual food and Ben’s other Nan and Pops and Aunty Alex came as well.  Every one had good fun and Ben enjoyed the day.

Earlier, he had been given his presents from Gramps, Nanny Helen and Aunty Bec and he liked them all.  He got some new clothes, a Fire Engine toy, a Mobile Phone toy, some shaped blocks and a couple of other little things.  It took him a while to open them as he wanted to play with each as they were opened, but we got there in the end, with a little help.

Here are some photos -
